Welcome to Studio 1080 Hollywood, a unique getaway where the name tells a story. This studio apartment, which once served as the creative work studio of '60s fashion icon Rudi Gernreich, is perched 1,080 feet above the nearby Pacific Ocean. The combination of Studio, 1080, and Hollywood honors its artistic past, unique elevation, and iconic location—a place where creative energy lingers and inspires.
Location & Getting Around
An advantage of staying in the Hollywood Hills is that we're approximately equal distance to the two sides of the mountain, making Studio 1080 a calm oasis that's centrally located to everything Los Angeles has to offer. This unique location makes us a convenient gateway to the San Fernando Valley, with iconic locations like Universal Studios Hollywood and the Warner Bros. Studio Tour. Down the hill in the other direction—on the "city side"—you'll find nearby Hollywood, West Hollywood, and Beverly Hills. For a day at the beach, the Pacific Ocean and our closest beaches of Santa Monica and Venice Beach are easily accessible, as is the glamorous Pacific Coast Highway to Malibu. Just across the top of the mountain on scenic Mulholland are the massive Getty Museum and Skirball Cultural Center. Getting around is a breeze whether you have a car or not, with easy, free street parking for guests, and an Uber or Lyft at your door within 10 minutes. Many guests leave their rental car here and venture out at night using ride-share services, especially when attending events at the nearby Hollywood Bowl. Most local trips are about $15 USD when taking Uber or Lyft. If you're flying in, we're equally convenient to both LAX and Burbank airports. Transit from LAX is 12 miles and typically takes 45-60 minutes in traffic. Burbank airport is also about 12 miles away, but typical drive time is just 30 minutes! (The infamous "LA Traffic" -- None of us loves it!)
